Senior Sales - Prime Brokerage / HedgeFunds

Salary: Circa $1.5M base + bonus + benefits

My client is a tech savvy business offering complex solutions to the financial services. They are looking to expand their footprint across Asia, focused on penetrating Buy Side institutions such as Hedge Funds, Asset Managers and Real Money. This is a leading technology firm in the industry with a strong emphasis around OTC Clearing and Prime Brokerage. The role would be a Senior Sales hire selling some impressive buy-side driven solutions.

The position sits within Hong Kong reporting to the Regional Head of Sales. You will be part of an experienced sales team in APAC with a lot of industry and prime brokerage experience. You will be targeting APAC hedge funds and asset managers and will ideally come from a Prime brokerage business or hedge fund consulting team at a bank. This role will involve selling market leading sofwtare products designed by ex-market individuals focussed solely to the buyside and Prime Brokerage community.

Some of your responsibilities and previous skills will include the following:


  • Own a clearly defined sales target for selling  a buy-suide suite of technolgoy services and solutions.
  • To effectively and efficiently own the sales process including; sales planning, prospecting, proposals, presentations & contract negotiations.
  • Demonstrating a deep knowledge of a client’s business by identifying opportunities for sales of new services, products and professional services. 
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure that any customer queries are communicated effectively through the correct channels in the business.
  • Assist the business in its future development by effectively communicating the value proposition to customers and the market. Furthermore work closely with all parts of the business to provide insight to other members of the team such as - market development, technological issues and customer queries as well as anything you feel will assist the development of the company.

Knowledge & Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales and account management within the financial services industry.
  • Experience gained directly within an OTC Clearing, Prime Brokerage sales or hedge fund consulting business would be highly desirable.
  • Experience in solution selling to multiple levels within an organization.
  • Solid understanding of the financial services (especially equities), enterprise applications, trading systems, electronic markets, financial networking would be preferable.
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining account relationships at all levels both with external and internal customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as organizational skills a must.
