Our client is a successful and fast growing business within the financial services industry, they have a global presence, a strong brand and reputation in the field of financial data, trading services, analytics and related solutions.

The role is based in Tokyo covering local markets which incorporates targeting or dealing with mega banks, local sell-side and buy-side communities. The product offering is strong with a particular reputation for its expertise and offering related to fixed income + derivatives.

This role is ideally suited to a self-motivated individual who relishes being at the forefront of business activities and thrives on their own successes and those of the team. The main criteria for this hire is someone with strong sales acumen and approach. You will need to have worked within financial services, although sales experience around a given product is not specific.

A strong communicator with a driven approach to sales, someone with good ability in territory management and closing skills is required. You will need to be adept at challenger sales and be highly motivated with the ability to think on your feet, from both a business and technical perspective.

Any platform, software or financial data sales experience is preferred although sales experience gained within a major financial institution is also applicable.


Key Objectives:

  • Exceed annual sales quota
  • Manage territory and work closely with other sales colleagues to identify and close new opportunities
  • Managed and develop strong client relationships
  • Work closely with the product team to provide feedback on any client, prospect or partner requirements


Job Qualifications:

  • 7+ years sales experience with a focus on financial markets (ideally trading operations) and ability to consistently exceed individual sales quota
  • Strong exposure to financial markets, ideally an intimate knowledge of the systems which consume real time data in each use case
  • Adept at the challenger sales model
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Competent CRM-Salesforce skills
  • Proficient in pipeline management and forecasting
  • Solid negotiation skills
  • Solid track record of high close ratio
  • Previous experience working within a data/software vendor, exchange or trading firm - preferred.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English.
